Popped Collar

Hell’s Kitchen
57th and 9th Ave.

A popped collar on a shirt can seem somewhat pretentious, but this guy makes his convincing and nonchalant.

Bow Tie

Bow Tie

Financial District
Nassau St.

Notice how all the lighter colors of this guy’s outfit are on the top half, while the darker tones are on the bottom. A bit of an even contrast here. I personally never like to wear a bow tie unless it’s for a formal occasion, but some guys don’t need a tux to wear bring one out. Might I add, he’s also exemplifying some great posture. Being and looking cool doesn’t always have to result in being slouchy, hunched over or slovenly. Standing upright commands respect and authority. Is that what our mothers meant when they told us to stand up straight as kids? I think I just answered my own question.

Navy Blue Suit

Navy Blue Suit

Midtown
Madison and 45th St.

A navy blue suit is a solid investment, a great uniform and a staple in any man’s wardrobe. This guy wears one well with some cool shades and a nice example of a good, no hair look. I’d shave my head if I could look like him, but it just doesn’t work on me. Kudos to all the guys who can pull it off.
