Printed Tie

Printed Tie

West Village
Varick and Carmine St.

This tie stood out to me because of it’s subtle diamond print and how well the pattern is spaced out on the tie so that it doesn’t look too busy. I also like how it’s a jewel toned color blue against the navy suit.

Well Suited

Well Suited

Acustom Apparel/SoHo
West Broadway and Grand St.

I was waiting for a friend outside of the SoHo Grand Hotel when I noticed these two gents on a smoke break looking very dapper in their respective suit and blazer. They both work at the suit store Acustom Apparel and it got me thinking of wanting to work at a suit store as well to give me a reason to dress like that on a regular basis.:)

This One’s For Me

This One's For Me

SoHo
Prince and Lafayette

I generally don’t play favorites with outfits or pictures I take since I’m very diplomatic, but this guy’s ensemble is a stand out for me. Something about him nailing the spread collar, the lapels and color of the jacket, the hint of red in the pocket square, the brown knit tie, the shades, the cuff of his jeans and monk strap shoes. His precision is off the charts. I hate shopping, but this makes me want to go and replicate this look.

Cavan at Wooster St. Social Club

Cavan Valance
Wooster St. Social Club/SoHo

It was one of those rare Friday nights when I had nothing planned for the evening, so it was to my surprise when Cavan hit me up with a text the minute I walked into my apartment from a long day at work to invite me to a party at the Wooster St. Social Club a few blocks away from where I live. He just got off work himself which was located down the street and since I was super close myself, I decided to drop by.

The occasion was for a great cause. His good friend Tatiana was an organizer of an event hosted Global Humanitaria USA co-sponsored with Miami Ink and NY Ink star Ami James of the two hit reality programs on TLC. The party was for the launch of the “Brick by Brick” Children’s Shelter Campaign to support the fight against child sexual exploitation in Cambodia. A worthy cause if there ever was one. So many people came out to support the event and I was moved by the speeches given by the organizers/partners and Mr.James himself offered a great testimony as to why he felt the need to support it through the notoriety of his tattoo shop. Since it is the holiday season and if you’re feeling the need to donate to a worthwhile campaign please visit Global Humanitaria’s website for more information and a complete rundown of what they do (see link below). Being generous and having an open heart is always in style and is not relegated to just the holidays!

Coat less

Coat less

TriBeCa
Warren and West Broadway

It’s pretty cold out in New York, but even with the frigid temperatures, you’ll always find the guy who defies the weather and puts style over comfort. It was interesting to note that most of the people walking by him and surrounding him were bundled in heavy black and/or puffy coats but he stood out.

Chilly in Chelsea

Chelsea
10th Ave. and 19th St.

I was gallery hopping on a Saturday afternoon in Chelsea and it was frigid out. I was surprised to find this French gentleman sitting outside without a coat working on his laptop. He was a very friendly Frenchie who was all smiles, polite and cheerfully agreed to let me take his picture while he tapped away on his laptop. He even said “my pleasure”. Most of my French friends are the most stylish friends I have, but rarely are they as sunny as this one.

Flash of Socks

Flash of Socks

Flatiron District
5th Ave. and 24th St.

What I appreciated about this guy was that as he was passing by, I noticed his checkered blue and pink socks as his pant leg lifted up. But also, the print of his tie, his subtle pinstripes on the suit, the white pocket square, pink spread collar shirt and shiny leather loafers with tassles all added up to a myriad of details.

Fall Blazer Days

Fall Blazer Days

TriBeCa
6th Ave. and Lispenard

This guy’s look is cool for the mix. The blazer dresses things up and he adds a dash of color and personality with his pocket square, but he’s also cool and casual with his NY Giants cap, boots, pants slightly rolled up and a bit preppy with his chinos and button down shirt. The look feels like fall.

Sheen

Sheen

Financial District
Wall St.

This gentleman’s suit is pretty slick because there is a hint of sheen to it and navy blue and brown is one of my favorite color combos. There are so many great details here with the polka dot tie, juxtaposed against his checked shirt, the white pocket square and the added layer of the vest and the tan brown wingtip shoes, yet in no way does it look too busy. Even the wall he’s standing against matches!

Pop of Color

Pop of Color

Midtown
Park Ave and 46th St.

This is a pretty sharp grey suit with a pop of color from the tie, held together by his tie bar and finished off with a white pocket square. He looks like he’s brown bagging it for lunch. Now this is how you do lunch people. Take note
