Levi’s Jacket

Levi's Jacket

Greenwich Village
6th Ave. and Waverly Place

Nothing beats a classic. Case in point – this gent’s Levi’s denim jacket. Minus the smart phone, he looks like he could be in New York in the 1950’s. Some items are just timeless.

Swagger

Swagger

SoHo
West Broadway and Broome St.

Forget what he’s wearing. I noticed the confidence, gait of his walk and posture. He was displaying some good swagger. Style is also about how you carry yourself and the esteem you hold yourself in, not just the things you wear.

Yankees Cap

Yankees Cap

Chelsea
8th Ave. and 14th St.

I captured a classic, clean cut, sporty, all American look with this fellow. Blue jeans, a simple, white, pocket t-shirt and a New York Yankees cap with the brim slightly curved. This is what I refer to as no-brainer style.

Classic Polo

Classic Polo

West Village
Hudson and Barrow St.

Nothing beats a classic. A classic saves you from having to think. You just throw it on and head out the door – simple. Polo shirts can be found anywhere and everywhere, but there’s something about a Ralph Lauren one that makes you feel you’re wearing the real deal. This guy’s pink version is a great fit.

White Out

White Out

West Village
Hudson and Leroy St.

This was one of the last shots I took during an afternoon of shooting on the west side. The sun was setting, the light was fading, but a pop of white caught my eye as I was about to call it a day. I’m one of those people that loves white clothing, owns a fair share of it, but it gets relegated to the back of the drawers or closet because I’m more concerned that it will get dirty easily, rather than enjoying the clothes. After catching this pic, I’ll be sure to lose that idiosyncrasy. There really is nothing like a white long sleeved crew neck t-shirt. It’s one of the only few items that looks good with jeans, shorts, khakis, work out pants and even swim trunks.

Profile and Peacoat

Profile and Peacoat

SoHo
West Broadway and Grand St.

I caught this photo on the fly as my back was turned to this guy as he was walking past. When I turned around, I was able to capture a side view profile and his navy blue pea coat. I own a black, cashmere/wool blend pea coat with a stand up collar that I purchased at the menswear label UNIS in Nolita (a downtown New York neighborhood). I wore the hell out of it for a few years and now it’s stored away and I only wear it a few times out of the year during the colder months. It’s a classic and will always be in my wardrobe. Some things in your closet, you just don’t get rid of, no matter what the condition.

Missoni Man

Missoni Man

TriBeCa
West Broadway and White St.

The luxury Italian Brand Missoni is the creator of this ubiquitous print seen here on this gentleman via his scarf. It’s a classic, non-trendy print, somewhat like cheetah print. Fashion comes and goes, but certain styles are timeless. A lot of this outfit is timeless in fact – the navy pea coat, the straight leg denim and brown wing tip shoes.
